Mr. Snuggles needs it everyday sometimes twice in one day. All my other cats love it although they dont really need it. I think its a bonding thing. They cue up for a brush. It also makes you feel nice a lovely big purring kitty enjoying it. All the kittens I have fostered even the ex ferals have enjoyed it (in the end)

Thats a good question Fluffy. Most of ours are short haired and do a great job of keeping themselves groomed but at the same time I have a bit of an allergy to dead pet hair which means that sometimes a good brush or comb is definitely required. Sometimes they get brushed just because they like the entertainment value.

Pepper adores being brushed and combed. She really needs it. Despite being short haired, she has a double coat. The vet was amazed. When you part her fur you cannot see the skin. I also Petal Cleanse her, which involves putting the stuff (it's a liquid) with a sponge on her coat and then drying her off again with a towel. It supposedly gets rid of the dander, which is what most people (including me) are allergic to. Samson tolerates it but is not a big fan. He is also very good at keeping himself neat and tidy. When I use the brush hardly any fur comes out. Buddie, well let's just say I pick up the brush and he is gone. I love grooming Pepper, she purrs her little head off and it's so relaxing.

No, but I went to visit a neighbour on Friday and she had a 'cat mitt' as well as a cat brush and her cat was obviously in ecxtasy when she demonstrated it to me. So I might just get one next time I'm at the pet shop.

What is a shedener?
And blimey, they allow you to brush their teeth? I would have no fingers left if I'd try that with my lot.

I would like to know what a shedender is Mr. Snuggles laid in the rain yesterday and came in looking like a scruffy old stray I had a h*** of a job doing him. Gave him a bit of a trim he looks lovely now. I love brushing my cats and they love it too apart from poor old Snuggles but poor boy has ALL that fur so I dont blame him. He likes his head and under his chin but thats it!! It really does make you feel lovely when you groom mine cue up for it. When I get the comb they all line up for it!!
