Thnx Linda. We're back from holidays, so I phoned my Vet today, and it seems the girls (Olja and Olga) are going to be tested for HCM tomorrow. I'm terrified about what they will find. I'll let you know about the results. Keep your fingers crossed.

It all went well. Both Olja's and Olga's ultrasound results show no signs of hypertrophy of the heart muscle, ECG is normal in all parameters.[glow=red,2,300] I AM RELIEVED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!![/glow] They were good girls (I didn't expect Olga to be soooo good). Me proud Mummy.... ;D The Vet has no scratches. As a reward for being so good I asked her to give them annual boosters which they missed last 3 years. BUT, life is a bit** anyway... We took Ozren along. His eye seemed suspicious to me, so the Vet checked it... He has keratitis + hyperpigmentation of the iris (progressive). If we don't treat it, he'll go blind. Treatment involves cyclosporine (the immunosuppressant). So, from now on - till the end of his (or our) lives, we have to apply cyclosporine 2-3 times per day into his only eye. Blimey! (tube of cyclosporine costs 27 euros) All the kitties are on perscription diet from now on, because the boys have bloody stool and vomit all the time. We can't feed them separately, so all of them have to eat expensive Hills i/d diet. They are very happy about it ;D ;D ;D. I'm NOT!!!!!!!!!!

That's very good news for the girls. I'm so pleased that this load has been taken off you. Poor Ozren, though. I hope his eye is going to be OK. What does Hills I/D do? and will they have to eat it all the time now or only a certain period until they tummies are settled again.

"Hills prescription diet i/d is a complete dietetic pet food for the reduction of acute intestinal absorptive disorders and for compensation for maldigestion and exocrine pancreatic insufficiency in cats. This dietetic pet food has an increased level of electrolytes, highly digestible ingredients and a low level of fat. Recommended length of time for use: one to two weeks during periods of, and recovery from, acute diarrhoea. Compensation for maldigestion: 3 to 12 weeks, but lifetime in case of chronic pancreatic insufficiency." They are on this diet since Friday. All of them. First day everything was OK, then on Saturday Orlando threw up all the diet food that he had just eaten. After a while Ozren threw up too. Olga (who is eating it also) now has diarrhoea. Olja is fine for now but we hardly see her. She has been incredibly shy and behaves very odd. Dinko saw Olga having some difficulties peeing. She also drinks a lot. I'm not panicking here, but those symptoms... diabetes? I don't know. I guess we'll be visiting our Vet very soon.

T, don't panic. It is possible that the change in diet has caused all this. Olga sounds like she is suffering from stress related cystitis, if she is having difficulties in weeing. The vet will be able to tell.
They will also drink alot more at this time of year because of the heat. And a dry food diet makes them drink anyway a lot more. Stay calm and have a chat with your vet first.
