Unfortunately I had to make that kind of decision five times now. With my dogs Curly, Lady & Kayla I was so heartbroken after they passed that I wasn't thinking straight and didn't ask for their ashes back. I really regret that now. But with Katy & Shadow, they both had private cremations and I have their ashes along with pictures, collars, toys ect... sitting on a remembrance shelf. We moved after they passed and I'm so glad we didn't have to leave them behind. And heaven forbid when that day comes again I think I'll always want a private cremation, so I can keep the ashes close by.

We buried our cat Rocket on our hill, right behind our playhouse. Our other cat we lost, Pumpkin, was never found, so was neither cremated or buried...don't really want to think about what happened to her As someone mentioned before, it's a nice way to remember your pet. I think that it is the best you can do for a cat. Thinking of cremating a cat is kind of a scary thought...

I have always gone for private cremation since burying precious babies and then having to move.
